UX DESIGN IS NOT ART, IT’S A SCIENTIFIC PROCESS

1st August, 2022

Have you ever failed with an app/website and blamed it on yourself after uninstalling it? Has your business failed to attract and retain the attention of your target customer? Do you need to look for YouTube videos to perform a specific task in an app? If your answer is “YES” to the questions, then it is time to look at the system’s user experience. User Experience (abbreviated as UX) is everything that affects the user’s interaction with a product. The product could be a website, an app, a service, software; simply anything and everything.

UX Design is the process of creating products or services that provide meaningful and relevant experiences for users. Steve Jobs said, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” UX design is not art, it’s a scientific process.

UX design can be implemented in any stage of a product cycle; the beginning, middle, or even after it had developed. A UX designer follows a user-centered design process. UX is important for both users and businesses. No matter what type of product is under process, it is going to interact with real people who need to purchase it or subscribe to it to meet the business goal. UX meets at the soft spot of user needs and business needs overlap.

They use a set of tools and techniques to take user’s needs into account at every stage of the product’s lifecycle. It is a continuous cycle of exploration and refinement through certain processes named – understand, define, ideate, decide, prototype, and validate.
